I live in Republic of Korea, Shortly, South Korea is nation of liberal democracy.
But, I can not get the concept of freedom and the concept of democracy.
It is always good practice to define a word first and then stretch out from it.
So that soil can build up and build a house on it.
And whether or not I understood. And if you misunderstand , you can fix it.
There are passive freedom and positive freedom.
Mental freedom, Material freedom I think these are the concepts I want to achieve first. It is the person who can chose to accept the demand of someone in order to obtain mental freedom.
In order to obtain such freedom, the easiest way is to obtain material freedom. The democratic weakness of pure democracy is the principle of a majority rule ... that a rational majority can press a rational minority. Therefore, the revised concept is republicanism. People can demand individual rights and interests and make reasonable opinions through discussion or debate. In other words, democratic sovereignty belongs to many, not individuals, and sovereignty belongs to individual in republican.
